The article by Buzzetto-More (2012) display interesting look the way students interact with social media. I believe that social media can be successful at engaging students since confrontational fear and embarrassment are eliminated. Students are free to express thoughts without judgement among peers. It was clearly noted that it needs to be a social environment that is positive in order to be constructive. I have seen and heard how a negative social media input can have the complete opposite effects than what was in intended.
I believed that social media and internet learning are just now starting to be embraced. The difficultly at employ such new avenues would constructing an atmosphere that is engaging and progressive towards learning since students can easily be distracted from the learning experience. Also, we must take into consideration that not all have the capacity nor the tools to be effective in this type of environment. That is something that needs further discussion.
